Chicken and Ziti Casserole

This is a bridal shower recipe from my wonderful mother in law. She says it was Casey's favorite growing up and I think it still is. He loved it, I loved it, and it was super easy to boot. This one will definitely be staying in the family.
1 (30oz) jar of your favorite pasta sauce
4 cups cooked ziti
1 1/2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
1 cup shredded mozzarella, divided
1 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated

Preheat the oven to 350.

In a 2 quart casserole dish, stir together pasta sauce, ziti, chicken, and 1/2 cup mozzarella until ingredients are incorporated. Top mixture with remaining mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

Servings: 6

  • I coated the chicken with Italian chicken seasoning and sauteed it in a bit of olive oil, then shredded.
  • At Cyndi's recommendation, I added extra sauce since Casey and I like our pasta to be extra saucy.

I like the use of chicken in here rather than ground meat of some sort. Delicious!
